Frequently Asked Questions About Fall Mini Sessions

Best for families of four. Larger Families should book two back to back.

For the Classic Mini (set day & location), your session will automatically move to the following weekend. For the Flexible Mini, we’ll work together to find a new date that works for both of us within 45 days of the original date.

Absolutely. Dogs, cats, and yes even your bearded dragon or snake if you’re feeling bold. Just bring a leash, treats, and maybe an extra set of hands to help manage them. Check out this blog post for helpful tips for bringing your dog to your photoshoot.

Your fully edited gallery will be delivered within 2 weeks. You’ll get a link to select and download your images, plus options for gallery upgrades and holiday card designs.

Classic Mini: Held at one seasonal Austin-area location (select at booking link). Both locations are chosen for gorgeous fall color and great light.
Flexible Mini: You pick the spot! Think: parks, murals, downtown Austin, or one of my favorite hidden gems. Check out the guide here for expert advice on the best fall locations in Austin, Texas.

Layers, textures, and colors that pop. My favorites are reds, oranges, mustard yellow, and other earthy neutrals, but really anything that feels like you. Read more about my recommendations here with the family photo style guide.

Honestly, no one’s kids “behave” for an entire photoshoot. That’s why I use fun games and prompts to keep things moving. The most important part is you show up to play and have fun with your kids. You can read more about my take on behavior at a photoshoot here.

Mini sessions are non-refundable. If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to gift or sell your spot to a friend. I will only reschedule the date for rain or family emergency.

I don’t usually bring props to fall mini sessions anymore, because I’ve found the photos feel more timeless (and true to your family) without them. That said, you’re welcome to bring along something meaningful if you’d like! I recommend keeping it simple since I’ll already have a few fun activities planned to keep things relaxed and natural. If there’s something specific you have in mind, just ask me in your questionnaire… I may already have something similar we can use!
