A Fall Mini Session Day in Pflugerville
Stoney Creek Park was home base for a full day of fall mini sessions, and the McCulloughs were one of several families who came out that afternoon. It’s a spot that doesn’t get as much attention as some of the more well-known Austin locations, but it’s a great fit for family sessions — enough green space and natural backdrop to let a family just be themselves without a lot of visual noise.
Two Kids, Very Different Approaches
Tabitha described Bijou as a creative, artistic kid and Solaris as more of an engineer — a little shy, but thoughtful. That combination shows up in photos in interesting ways. The artist wants to express something; the engineer wants to understand what’s happening before committing to it. Getting both kids in the same frame, relaxed and together, is its own small victory.
The One They Almost Missed
They’d missed their family photos the year before, which meant this session carried a little extra weight. A new sibling photo every year is something the McCulloughs do on purpose, and getting back on track with that mattered. We got the sibling shot, the all-smiles family photo Michael had his heart set on, and enough candid moments in between to round it out. They had to move their session up in time so it was a bit brighter out than originally planned but I think they still loved the results.
