I know what it’s like to want to have everything ready… the gear, the plan, the backup plan. Pregnancy comes with so much pressure to be prepared, even when nothing about it feels predictable.
 
I’ve had two kids, five years apart, both C-sections, both totally different experiences. I’ve made a lot of mistakes (and Googled a lot of things at 2am), and I’m still learning how to show up and be the kind of parent I want to be.
 
But this season isn’t just about getting things in order… it’s a full transformation. While birth may mark the beginning of life with your baby, the journey of becoming a parent keeps unfolding long after. These photos are a way to pause and honor the start of that journey.

Spring in Central Texas unfolds in layers. While the weather starts warming in March, peak green fields and wildflowers typically show up from late April through May, sometimes stretching into early June depending on rainfall. If you’re hoping for bold color, that later window is usually the strongest.

We determine location based on what’s most important to you and your family based on several things that you answer in your questionnaire!

I always suggest light pastel colors and creams because it matches the light during this type of year. Read more about my recommendations here with the family photo style guide.

Honestly, no one’s kids “behave” for an entire photoshoot. That’s why I use fun games and prompts to keep things moving. The most important part is you show up to play and have fun with your kids. You can read more about my take on behavior at a photoshoot here.

Wildflower timing depends on rainfall and temperature, so it shifts slightly each year. I monitor local bloom patterns and will guide location choices based on what’s actually looking good at the time of your session.

I do offer some props for sessions, but they are dependent on the age of kids and the location. That said, you’re welcome to bring along something meaningful if you’d like! I recommend keeping it simple since I’ll already have a few fun activities planned to keep things relaxed and natural. If there’s something specific you have in mind, just ask me in your questionnaire… I may already have something similar we can use!
