Meet Cash
Cash’s mom was asked to describe him in one sentence and responded with: “He carries the light.” That’s a hard thing to follow up, but here goes. He plays guitar and keys, produces music, makes films, cycles when the weather cooperates, and drinks light roast coffee. His favorite musicians are David Bowie, Boards of Canada, and Radiohead. He looks, by his own admission, like an average guy. He is not an average guy.
He was applying to thirteen schools to study some combination of music, business, and computer science, and he wanted to start a band in college even if it went nowhere. Conan O’Brien is his favorite human. He only uses LinkedIn. He loves white chocolate despite his mom’s strong feelings about it.
Cash’s Senior Photo Locations
We started at the striped wall at one of the pavement thrift stores downtown, then made our way through the rest of Austin from there. We hit up Waterloo Records, walked around downtown, and ended up at parking garage. Cash had mentioned that Waterloo Records as a dream location so I’m glad we could use this one. He brought his guitar as a prop of sorts and we had SO much fun using it.
A Little More About Cash
He describes himself as a music nerd who is also a morning person and a people person, and somehow makes that sound cool. Twin Peaks is his favorite show. Torchy’s has him in a chokehold and he’s not sorry about it. He showed up in a blazer over a t-shirt with jeans, which is exactly the right call for someone who loves rock and roll but dresses like a regular person.
The Guy Who Carries the Light
Cash wanted his photos to feel relaxed, classic, and just a little rock star. His mom already wrote his chapter title, so we’ll leave it at that.
