Meet Rebecca Sneed of The Wild Hare
What she Got from Her Brand Session
Rebecca Sneed is the color specialist and extension artist behind The Wild Hare in Weatherford. Her Instagram bio says safe chair, beautiful hair, zero judgment, and if you’ve ever sat in her chair you know she means it. But ask anyone close to her and they’ll tell you Rebecca doesn’t just do transformation for a living, she lives it. Some days she’s soft and romantic. Some days she’s all edge. The version of her that shows up depends entirely on the wig or the color she felt like becoming that morning.
* Rebecca is a pro and we’ve worked together before. The reason she was able to work in five looks is because she knew how I worked and I knew how she worked. We came up with an extensive plan that worked through the timing for each look, and what she would need to have to change for each look. This level of detail may be hard for a first time brand session to stay on track for the two hours mark.
When Your Brand Is Every Version of Yourself: The Wild Hare Brand Session
Most personal brand sessions start with a question like “tell me about yourself and your business” because that’s where the intersection of personal branding lives. So when it came time to plan her brand photos, one look was never going to tell her whole story. After some chatting and thinking I came up with the Blind Box Becca theme. Instead of making it random looks that she just happened to like though we took it even deeper and looked back at the different versions she’s lived throughout her life. We packed five looks into one day and drove out to our hometown, Cisco, to shoot all of it.
We started on her grandparents’ farm for a country western look, the kind of wide open Texas backdrop that doesn’t need much help. Then, without even changing locations, we swapped into a full 1950s pinup look using an old car parked right there at the house. From there we moved into town to a playground for a Korn metal inspired look, all edge and attitude in a place built for kids totally fit the teen angst phase of her life. Then over to a quiet open field for something soft and fairy ethereal, for that coming of age female beauty phase. And then we ended the day at a pink wall in Cisco for an anime inspired look that pulled the whole thing together with her current phase of life now.
Five different looks. Five different identities. Five different phases of her life. One woman who holds them all simultaneously.
What struck me most about the day wasn’t any single photo, it was watching how naturally Rebecca moved through each one. Because she wasn’t revisiting old versions of herself like flipping through a yearbook. These are all still her. The girl who grew up on a farm, the teenager who blasted Korn, the woman who sees something soft and ethereal and wants to live inside it for a while… she didn’t leave any of them behind. She just keeps adding to the collection.
Safe chair, beautiful hair, zero judgment isn’t something Rebecca offers without understanding it herself first. It comes from someone who genuinely understands what it means to hold more than one version of yourself at once, and to not feel like you have to pick just one. When she’s behind the chair helping a client transform into a new version of themself, she already knows what that moment feels like from the inside.
