Crazy how it’s normal to leave your house for Christmas photos when Christmas happens at your house.

Most Christmas sessions ask you to come to a set with a backdrop and a tree that isn’t yours. This one goes the other way. You do what you were going to do anyway, and I’m there for it.

What Your Christmas Session is Like

You pick the holiday tradition, like, decorating the tree, baking cookies, reading Christmas books, checking out holiday lights in your neighborhood and I show up when it happens. This is a mix of posed and candid moments of your real life holiday traditions.

Who’s Coming To Your House

I’m Jess, a photographer and a mom who doesn’t expect perfection from you or your family. Yes, we will get posed photos together, but we’ll also get images of the way your kids’ eyes light up when they see their favorite ornament, or the giggles that come with decorating cookies and licking your fingers clean.

Christmas Sessions

The brainstorming is my favorite part here, but some typical ideas are decorating the tree, baking cookies, reading Christmas books in your Christmas pajamas, driving around or walking around looking at holiday lights together with hot chocolate, literally the ideas are limitless. What do you like to do to celebrate the holidays? That’s how we decide what to photograph for your family.

I’m not the clean house police… so no! You don’t. I’m only going to be in the room you want me to be in besides maybe the bathroom cause sometimes I drink too much water and need to use that room. lol

The beautiful think about the holidays are all the lights that most people use. But, just know I can always bring my lighting setup and help create more beautiful light. Just check out this dark house that we did some family photos in.

A mini session is typically very short at another location, this Christmas session is longer and actually captures your family’s holiday tradition. Which means you actually have photos that hold real meaning and memories to you and your family because you can be present during the activity.

Honestly, no one’s kids “behave” for an entire photoshoot. That’s why I use fun games and prompts to keep things moving. The most important part is you show up to play and have fun with your kids. You can read more about my take on behavior at a photoshoot here.

Sessions are non-refundable but are transferrable to another date should a emergency happen or weather ruin the activity planned. If the weather gets in the way of the holiday tradition you’d like to capture, don’t worry, we will find another date, time, or tradition. 🙂
