Saralyn’s Senior Story
Who Is Saralyn?
If Saralyn Herrera had a movie title, it might be something like “Patient Pirate Princess Turns Main Character” and honestly, the soundtrack would slap.
This Cedar Park High School senior is bold, kind, and quietly hilarious… the kind of person who surprises you with thoughtful insight one moment, then leaves you snort-laughing the next. She’s a dancer, performer, and future business major (with a side of acting, because duh), and after graduation she’s heading to Texas State University to start a brand new chapter. One she’s calling “The Unwritten Chapter Begins.”
(Spoiler: it’s going to be a good one.)
Her Vibe
When she’s not dazzling on stage with her drill team or dreaming of Broadway, Saralyn’s the kind of girl who’s down for a chill day by the pool followed by a night at the theater and late-night ice cream with friends. Basically: tan by day, tap number by night. Throw in some Goldfish snacks and Kevin Hart on a desert island, and you’ve got her ideal vibe.
She brought so much personality to her shoot — from prom dress elegance to shadowy wall drama to some truly iconic drill team energy. Saralyn told me she wanted her senior photos to feel like “Wow” and “OK SARALYNNNN” — and honestly? Mission accomplished.

Fun Facts About Saralyn
- Her favorite colors? Pinks, purples, blues, and a little black (because we love a pastel goth moment).
- Her dream closet? Cynthia Erivo’s!
- Magic Photo Booth Destination: DINOSAURS. Enough said.
- Most confident when: Dancing… it’s where she shines!
- Stranded Island Buddy: Kevin Hart (he’d keep her laughing until rescue arrived)
- Her perfect superpower? Always hitting green lights, because even this Broadway-loving senior doesn’t have time for traffic.
She loves dancing, loves people, and has a soft spot for musicals (especially Hell’s Kitchen and The Rookie). When you meet her, she’s the kind of person who makes you feel like you belong, as long as you can handle her laughing when someone trips. Be honest… sometimes falls are funny!
The Real Stuff
But beyond the fun, Saralyn’s got a soft and sincere side. Choosing a college was tough, not just logistically, but emotionally. It’s a reminder that senior year isn’t just about celebrations and photoshoots. It’s about big life decisions, deep reflection, and stepping into who you’re becoming.
When I asked Saralyn what people usually get wrong about her, she said it straight: “That I’m mean.” It’s the classic RBF problem. Her natural expression might look serious, but it’s not the whole story. Saralyn’s the kind of person who loves meeting new people, striking up conversations, and bringing warmth wherever she goes. A perfect reminder that confidence doesn’t cancel out kindness.
A Note to Saralyn
Saralyn, thank you for trusting me with this moment in your story. Whether you’re dancing on a stage, starting a new chapter at TXST, or sailing the seas as a mythical pirate (yes, we’re still talking about that), I hope you never forget just how wildly loveable and uniquely you, you are.
The world better get ready for Saralyn!
