Celebrating Carly: Senior at Garza High School, Class of 2024

This week’s Senior Sunday Spotlight is shining on Carly, a high school senior from Garza High School, Class of 2024! Carly has big plans for the future, but first, let’s get to know her a little better.

Who Is Carly?

Carly is someone who radiates light. This Garza high school senior brought her effortless style—and her adorable dog, Charlie—to her session. With her chic outfits and natural charisma, Carly made her senior photoshoot feel like it was straight out of a Taylor Swift daydream. According to her bestie, Carly is described as a DivaLiciousCuteBall. Carly, your bestie called it: this deserves a merch line!

But, before we jump into her senior photos, I have to share some of her childhood photos! Look at this adorable kid! Too freakin’ cute!

Carly’s Perfect Day

Carly’s idea of the perfect day is basically a dream: shopping with her best friends, swimming in a natural spring (Charlie included of course!), devouring a greasy cheeseburger with a side of chocolate milkshake, and closing out the day with some quality time with her friends in front of the tube laughing to the antics of her favorite show: Rick and Morty.

When asked which movie character she would be for a day, Carly chose Captain Jack Sparrow.

Carly’s personality is a masterclass in blending contrasts, much like a Taylor Swift album—equal parts sparkling mischief and heartfelt reflection. She’s got the kind of charisma that feels like it should be soundtracked by electric guitars and poetic lyrics.

Looking Ahead to Big Adventures

Post-graduation, Carly is headed to Colorado State University to study Political Science in the spring, where she’ll no doubt tap into her dream superpower of finding absolute gold while thrifting and searching out her next favorite natural body of water in a new state. She’s a Zendaya fan (can’t blame her) and a certified planner—though she’s got a wild streak. Case in point: when asked if she’d rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses, she confidently went with the duck. A bold choice, Carly.

I also discovered that Carly’s a “girls’ girl,” even though some people get that wrong about her. Let this be your official PSA: she’s all about lifting others up and always has your back. When she’s feeling confident, you’ll find her outdoors, soaking up nature and channeling her inner Pegasus energy.

The story she wanted her photos to tell?
“After all the obstacles I faced, I finally graduated!” ~ Carly

Carly, this chapter of your life—what you so perfectly called The End of the Beginning—was so fun to capture. Your laughter, bold personality, and love for the nature made this shoot unforgettable. Thanks for letting me be part of it!

A special note…

Carly, you possess an innate empathy for others, the ability to think critically, and to problem solve. Your poise and communication skills are unparalleled. You are brilliant, ingenious, innovative and charming – in short, a remarkable, powerful human being. Being your mother is my greatest honor and I am so lucky to have a front row seat to watch you change the world. All my love and congratulations on your graduation and this next chapter at Colorado State. I love you endlessly. – Mom
