The Burkman’s elegant wedding at The Orchard in Azle, Texas was a beautiful whirlwind of a day. I am so lucky they hired me to capture their special day. I hope they loved the results as much as I loved documenting their love story. They deserve the best and I hope they look back fondly on these photos and always remember how much they love each other.

I have a confession to make.

I cry at every wedding. Every. Single. Time! It feels like a surprise because I tell myself not today, but then I show up to capture their love and before I know it tears are running down my face during the ceremony. I think it’s because through photographing someone’s wedding you get to know them intimately. You learn their love story and about their families. It’s hard not to get emotional when you know someone on a deeper level.

Some of you may not know that I shoot weddings. In fact, I haven’t shared much about weddings online up to now. I usually talk about family photography. The reason isn’t because I only shoot families… it’s because I am a photographer for the whole family. I call myself a family photographer because your story doesn’t end with the happily ever after of your wedding day. Being a family photographer means I am emotionally invested in your story. I am sincerely happy for all of your successes and I am so grateful to the people that hire me for all of their big and little moments alike. Thank you for trusting me to authentically tell your story and be YOUR family’s photographer.
