Frequently Asked Questions

Many parents book these around 11 months so the photos are ready to share by their first birthday. But honestly, milestone sessions can happen anytime… one, one-and-a-half, two… There’s no expiration date on documenting joy.

You’re welcome to bring your own cake, but I can also send you my favorite local bakery recs if you’d like help. As for props, I like to  keep things simple and personal. A few well-loved toys or a blanket with meaning are always nice touches. I have some banners and chairs and stools. If you have a specific vision let me know and we can collaborate to figure it out.

Absolutely! While the focus is on your little one, I always make time to document your connection as a family — because you’ve been part of every second of this first year, and that deserves to be seen too.

Typically about 45 minutes, depending on your child’s mood and attention span. I follow their lead and keep things relaxed. We’ll take breaks as needed.

Nope. If your baby isn’t into cake (or the mess), that’s totally fine. These sessions are about your child’s personality. Some families have even opted for other types of food that their babies like more. Some other fun ideas include steak, spaghetti, and watermelon, but in the end food doesn’t have to be in it at all.

Most milestone sessions happen at a few outdoor locations I’ve handpicked for their gorgeous light, easy access, and baby-friendly vibes. If you have a special spot in mind (like your own backyard) I’m happy to chat about it! Just a heads-up: travel beyond a certain distance may include a small fee, but I’ll always let you know upfront.

Most families bring two outfits: one for portraits and one for the cake smash. Think onesies, bloomers, jeans, or something fun that matches your birthday theme. It’s all about comfort and personality. After booking, I’ll send over a quick questionnaire so we can plan outfits that fit your style.
