Baxter Anniversary | Zoo Ruins | Cisco, TX

When I felt suffocated by the monotony that accustoms maturing in a rural area I would often find myself exploring nature. During one of the countless trips out to the dam I began pushing geographical boundaries by exploring the abandoned zoo ruins outside of Cisco, Texas.

Over 10 years later, the city and citizens are reclaiming this forgotten jewel as a hiking trail. I am sincerely grateful action has been taken to preserve and enjoy this significant landmark. This place was once a refuge for a curious photographer who dragged some clients out here for a fantastical wedding anniversary photo session. It was so much fun! I can’t wait to take my kids and who knows maybe this same couple will want another session to celebrate on their next big anniversary year.
